Complaint/Content Removal Policy

1. Introduction

This policy is part of your legal agreement with us. By using the Squirt platform, you agree to the terms of this policy—please read it carefully. By submitting a complaint, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Contact Information

The Squirt platform is operated by Pink Triangle Press, located at 2 Carlton Street, Suite 1600, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5B 1J3.

3. Scope

This policy explains how we handle complaints related to content on our platform that might be (1) illegal, (2) violate our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, or (3) otherwise fail to comply with applicable law. It does not cover complaints about content moderation decisions or copyright infringement, which are addressed under our Appeals Policy and Copyright Policy.

4. Complaints about Content Moderation Decisions

We moderate content on the Squirt platform in accordance with our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. To contest a decision to deactivate content, to deactivate an account, or to issue a final warning, you may file an appeal using the appeal form located here. Appeals against a content moderation decision, including any decision to remove content, deactivate an account, or ban you from using the Squirt platform because we believe you have engaged in an illegal act, are subject to our Appeals Policy.

5. Complaints of Copyright Infringement

Complaints related to copyright infringement must be submitted to our copyright agent in accordance with our Copyright Policy, and we will respond to copyright infringement complaints as set out in that policy.

6. How to Make a Complaint and Report Illegal Content

(a) You can submit a complaint using any of the following methods:

  • Using our Contact Form: Select the reason for your complaint from the drop-down menu and use the “Enter your message” field to provide details about your complaint.

  • Using the “Report” Function: Using the “Report” function on the content page, select the reason for your complaint from the drop-down menu.

  • Emailing: Email your complaint to dickhunter@squirt.org.

  • Writing to Us: Mail your complaint to the mailing address listed in section 2.

(b) Please ensure your complaint includes sufficient information for us to investigate your complaint effectively, including any relevant URLs. If a complaint is missing important information, we may not be able to properly consider it.

7. Complaint Review Process

When reviewing a complaint:

  • We will review the relevant information and the supporting documents that you have provided.

  • We may request additional information or documents from you or third parties to assist in resolving your complaint.

  • All complaints will be resolved within five (5) business days.

  • If your complaint relates to content that appears on our platform and we determine that the content is unlawful or materially violates our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, we will remove it.

  • We will notify you when we have completed our review of your complaint and any action taken as a result of your complaint. If we determine that the content complies with our Terms of Service and do not remove it, you can appeal our decision as described in our Appeals Policy. If we disagree that consent to participate in any content is void under applicable law, we will allow that disagreement to be resolved by a neutral body at our expense without going through the appeals process.

8. Unjustified or Abusive Complaints

We do not tolerate complaints made in bad faith, including those that are abusive, harassing, or intended to cause harm. If you are a registered Squirt user and submit an abusive or unfounded complaint, we may take action, including restricting or terminating your account. Any such action will be proportionate and in line with our policies. You will be notified of the reasons for any restriction and have the right to appeal the decision in accordance with our Appeals Policy.

9. EU/EEA Consumer Mediation Services

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may resolve any dispute with us through consumer mediation services using the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform. We are not required to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings (except in very limited circumstances).

10. Regulatory Complaints

Squirt is committed to complying with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Users in certain regions may contact relevant regulatory bodies to raise concerns or seek assistance:

  • European Union. If you are located in the EEA and believe that an infringement of the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) has occurred while using the Squirt platform, you have the right to file a complaint with the Digital Services Coordinator in your country of residence. Additionally, you may report concerns to us under this policy and, if dissatisfied with our response, dispute our decision under our Appeals Policy.

  • Australia. Users in Australia can report concerns about the safe use of technology to the eSafety Commissioner via their website.

11. Breach of Contract Claims under the UK Online Safety Act

If you are a resident of the United Kingdom, you are entitled to bring a breach of contract claim against us, including where we fail to comply with our Terms of Service. This includes situations where (1) your content is removed or access to it is restricted without proper justification, or (2) your account is suspended or banned in violation of our Terms of Service. These rights are provided under the UK Online Safety Act and other laws.

12. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy or our Terms of Service affects your statutory rights under law.

 

Anti-Human Trafficking and Exploitation Policy

1. Our commitment

Pink Triangle Press has zero tolerance for human trafficking, sex trafficking, forced labour, child exploitation, or any other exploitation of another person.

You must not use Squirt.org, the SQ Dating mobile application, or any related website, application, product, or service that Pink Triangle Press operates under the Squirt or SQ Dating brands (collectively, the “Services”) to engage in, promote, facilitate, coordinate, conceal, or financially benefit from human trafficking or exploitation.

This policy applies to all users, accounts, communications, profiles, advertisements, listings, images, videos, and other content or activity made available through or in connection with the Services.

2. Prohibited conduct

You must not use the Services to:

  1. recruit, transport, transfer, receive, hold, conceal, harbour, or exercise control, direction, or influence over a person for the purpose of exploiting that person;
  2. compel or control another person through force, threats, violence, fraud, deception, coercion, confinement, debt bondage, abuse of authority, abuse of vulnerability, control of finances, withholding of identification or travel documents, or similar means;
  3. exploit, attempt to exploit, recruit, groom, advertise, solicit, or facilitate access to any person under 18 years old;
  4. advertise, solicit, arrange, purchase, sell, broker, manage, or facilitate commercial sexual activity involving trafficking, coercion, exploitation, or other unlawful conduct;
  5. control, access, or operate another person’s account for an exploitative purpose;
  6. use the Services to identify, recruit, monitor, threaten, intimidate, control, or retaliate against a potential or actual victim of trafficking or exploitation;
  7. upload or distribute content depicting a person who did not knowingly and voluntarily consent to its creation and distribution;
  8. provide false information concerning the identity, age, consent, or circumstances of a person depicted in content; or
  9. assist another person in engaging in conduct prohibited by this policy.

Consensual and lawful activity between adults does not, standing alone, constitute human trafficking. Consent obtained through force, threats, fraud, coercion, abuse of authority or vulnerability, or similar improper means is not valid for purposes of this policy.

Conduct may violate this policy whether it occurs entirely through the Services or begins through the Services and continues through another service or offline.

3. Measures we use to prevent, detect, and respond to trafficking

3.1 Adult-only services

The Services are intended only for legal adults. Users must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction if it is higher than 18.

We may require age or identity verification based on the Service used, the user’s location, applicable law, or other relevant circumstances.

3.2 Measures used on Squirt.org

Squirt.org uses the following measures:

  1. Adult representations. Each member must represent that the member is an adult. Members who upload material depicting another person must represent that each person depicted is at least 18 years old.
  2. Age verification. Squirt.org requires members in certain jurisdictions, including jurisdictions where age verification is required by applicable law, to verify that they are at least 18 years old. Verification is completed through a third-party age-assurance provider using one or more available methods, which may include facial age estimation, digital identification, identity-document and selfie verification, or credit-card verification. Members may be required to renew their verification periodically.
  3. Member reporting tools. Members may report content, profiles, communications, or conduct directly to Squirt.org’s moderation team using the report function available through the platform.
  4. Helpdesk and complaint reporting. Reports may also be submitted through the Squirt.org Helpdesk or by email to dickhunter@squirt.org.
  5. AI-assisted content screening. Squirt.org uses artificial-intelligence systems and service providers to assist in reviewing submitted photos and videos for content that may depict minors, human trafficking, sex trafficking, child sexual abuse material, physical abuse, or other illegal or harmful conduct. Content identified through this process may be blocked, removed, or referred to Customer Support or moderation personnel for human review. Squirt.org may restrict or suspend the associated account while the content or conduct is reviewed.
  6. Human review. Customer Support and moderation personnel review reported content and conduct. They may review relevant content, communications, account information, and supporting documents and may request additional information from the reporting person, affected user, or another relevant person.
  7. Content removal. Squirt.org removes content that it determines is unlawful or materially violates its Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Code of Conduct, or other applicable policies.
  8. Account enforcement. Squirt.org may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate users who engage in prohibited conduct or who fail to provide information reasonably requested during an investigation.

3.3 Measures used on SQ Dating

SQ Dating uses the following additional measures:

  1. Age and identity verification for depicted persons. A user who submits content depicting another person must verify that person’s identity and age and confirm that the person is an adult.
  2. Written consent records. A user who submits content depicting another person must obtain and retain written consent confirming that the person agreed to:
  • be depicted in the content;
  • have the content uploaded and distributed through SQ Dating; and
  • have the content downloaded where downloading is permitted.
  1. Document production. Users must provide supporting age, identity, and consent documentation to Pink Triangle Press on request.
  2. AI-assisted content screening. SQ Dating uses artificial-intelligence systems and service providers to assist in reviewing submitted photos and videos for content that may depict minors, human trafficking, sex trafficking, child sexual abuse material, physical abuse, or other illegal or harmful conduct.
  3. Automated intervention. Content detected through this screening may be blocked or removed, and the associated account may be automatically suspended.
  4. Human moderation. Content identified by automated systems may be reviewed by SQ Dating’s human moderation team. Users may also report content that automated systems do not identify.
  5. Enforcement. SQ Dating may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, refer matters to law enforcement, and take other corrective action based on the results of its review.

3.4 Measures used across the Services

Pink Triangle Press maintains an internal procedure for responding to reports involving an apparent imminent threat to the life, health, safety, or security of any person. Under that procedure, reported matters are promptly escalated to designated personnel for review. Depending on the circumstances, Pink Triangle Press may preserve relevant content, communications, account information, and other evidence; restrict or suspend implicated accounts; collect additional information; obtain legal review; and contact or respond to law enforcement, emergency services, or other appropriate authorities. Pink Triangle Press documents its response and any disclosure of information in accordance with applicable law and its internal procedures.

4. Reporting suspected trafficking or exploitation

You should promptly report any content or activity that you reasonably believe may involve human trafficking or exploitation by:

Please provide enough information to help us identify and assess the concern, such as the relevant username or account, a description of the conduct, any related content or communications, relevant dates or locations, whether anyone appears to be in immediate danger, and any supporting links or screenshots available to you. You may submit a report even if you do not have all of this information.

Do not confront a suspected trafficker, place yourself or another person at risk, or obtain information through unlawful means.

If you believe that a person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or law-enforcement agency before reporting the matter to us. The Services are not emergency-response systems, and a report to us is not a substitute for contacting emergency services.

5. How we respond

We review reports based on the available information and the apparent urgency, severity, and credibility of the concern.

When appropriate, we may:

  1. preserve relevant content, communications, account information, technical information, and other records;
  2. restrict access to content, communications, accounts, or functionality while a matter is reviewed;
  3. remove or disable access to content;
  4. suspend or terminate one or more accounts;
  5. prevent a suspended or terminated user from creating or accessing additional accounts;
  6. request additional information or documentation;
  7. notify or cooperate with law enforcement, emergency services, courts, regulators, payment service providers, acquiring banks, card networks, or other appropriate organizations;
  8. disclose information as required or permitted by applicable law; and
  9. take any other action that we reasonably consider necessary to protect a potential victim, our users, Pink Triangle Press, or the public.

We may take action without advance notice where notice could increase the risk of harm, compromise an investigation, result in the destruction of evidence, or interfere with law-enforcement activity.

6. Preservation and disclosure of information

We may preserve information relating to a report or investigation for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • investigate the reported conduct;
  • protect a potential victim or another person;
  • enforce this policy or our other policies;
  • respond to legal process or a law-enforcement request;
  • comply with applicable law; or
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We may disclose information relating to a report or investigation where required or permitted by applicable law, including to law enforcement, emergency services, courts, regulators, or another person who needs the information because of an emergency threatening the life, health, safety, or security of an individual.

7. Confidentiality of reports

We handle reports with appropriate regard for privacy, safety, and the integrity of an investigation. We cannot guarantee complete confidentiality.

We may disclose a report or information relating to it where reasonably necessary to investigate the matter, protect a person, enforce our policies, respond to law enforcement, or comply with applicable law.

To protect privacy, security, and the integrity of our investigations, we do not tell reporting persons whether we opened an investigation, what information we reviewed, or what action we took, except where disclosure is required by applicable law.

8. False or abusive reports

You must not knowingly submit a false, misleading, fraudulent, retaliatory, or abusive report.

Misuse of the reporting process may result in restriction, suspension, or termination of your account or other appropriate action.

A report made honestly and in good faith will not violate this section merely because the reported conduct is not ultimately found to violate this policy.

If you or someone you know may be experiencing human trafficking or exploitation, help may be available through the following independent organizations.

10. Relationship to other policies

Conduct prohibited by this policy may also violate our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Code of Conduct, Complaints Policy, or other applicable policies.

Any appeal from an account or content decision is governed by our Appeals Policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Services, our moderation and safety practices, our legal obligations, or our risk-management procedures.

The updated policy will become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
